From Scandinavian folktales to spells and curses, you’ll glide along on the backs of creatures both familiar and perhaps magical in their own right.

There are lessons to be learned: “We all have thorns, but most of us carry them inside where no one can see how they hurt us.” (Lea Doue’, “The Mountain Flames”)

Goblins, Fetches and More!

In addition, there are creatures to be discovered: Goblins, Fetches, Flying Giant Squids, and dragons. Can a dragon hear your thoughts? Has anyone ever rescued an ancient jewel or artifact from a dragon’s cave?

You’ll be on the edge of your seat when a wyvern sets sight on a griffin and the battle begins. Have you ever seen Frostclaw who is part-snake with a serpent head, part lion, leopard & deer? He is, tragically, a hideous creature to encounter!

For those of us who had difficulty with the instructions, “No” and “Don’t” as children, you’ll delight in Hanako and her magical kitten Maneki. You will encounter other-worlders and demons, but have you ever visited the mermaids and mermen under the sea? What about a Hum-Fairy in Ishka’s garden.

Have you ever stumbled on the treasures of a dragon in a cave? You may have that opportunity in Fantastic Creatures.
Fantastic Creatures Are Everywhere!

You’ll Love the Adventures you’ll encounter in Fantastic Creatures!

I delighted in taking a trip to Eilean Ren, the Capital of Fae Realm and learning about the Tree Octopus who begins life in the sea, but soon crawls out to live in the trees of the Pacific Northwest.

The beauty of an anthology is two-fold: You get to experience wonderful stories from authors you’ve never read before and you can finish a story in less than an hour, which fits into even the busiest of days.

Fantastic Short Stories and New Authors to Discover

In today’s world, none of us have the time to explore the world of books and authors while working and taking care of a family. This collection of stories will allow you to find new fantasy and science fiction authors to fill your summer reading schedule.

You’ll chuckle in delight when you visit Dead End and meet Burt and his Awanya in “Three Steaks and a Box of Chocolates!”

These stories contain no offensive language or sexual content.

The Authors of “Fantastic Creatures”

Book Description:

Here be dragons … and selkies and griffins and maybe even a mermaid or two.

Twenty fantasy authors band together to bring you a collection of thrilling tales and magical monsters. Do you like to slay dragons? Or befriend them? Do you prefer to meet cephalopods as gigantic kraken or adorable tree octopuses?

Each story focuses around a fantastic creature from folklore or mythology, and they range from light and playful tales for the whole family to darker stories that may make you wish to leave the lights on. These stories carry the Fellowship of Fantasy seal of approval. While our monsters may be horrifying, you won’t stumble into questionable content.

Perfect for the fantasy lover who can’t get enough of mythical beasts.

I loved the niffler from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them! He’s my new favorite, but I’ve always had a fondness for Griffins as well.
