Saturday’s Pick: Author Vincent Trigili

Author Vincent Trigili – Tales of Fantasy and Science Fiction

Today, I’m pleased to introduce you to a man who embodies all the qualities of a loving and devoted father and husband.

Vincent Trigili faced the greatest challenge of his life in 2003 when his son was born. Rather than enjoying the miracle of a new life, he descended into the terror of learning his habits might suddenly end his life. You see, Vincent Trigili was overweight and his heart started to fail.

So, instead of accepting the fact that he might not live to see his son grow up, Vincent started running. You’ll see him pumping away on the treadmill, running the hills on Liberty’s campus, and participating in marathons.

In 2016, Vincent Trigili won the honor of being named a “Runner of Steel” in the Pittsburgh Marathon.

Vincent Forges A New Lifestyle

Vincent Trigili has sculpted an entirely new life and can now boast he’s led his son and youth group to the top of a mountain.

What kind of man can turn a life around like that?

A man who cherishes his family will climb any summit necessary to enable him to share that life with his family.

That is the author we all know as Vincent Trigili. It makes me extremely proud to know a man who can inspire all of us to do better.

In his words:

“I do not know what you are facing as you read this, but whatever it is, it does not have to master you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Life is about the journey. Life is about living. Take back your life from whatever you are facing and LIVE.

You are important. You have a purpose. Discover it and own it. You got this!”

Background

Vincent is a father and husband for over two decades now. He holds degrees in both Math and Computer Science. Also, he published an astronomy journal, numerous articles, poetry and other works.

He got his start in writing fiction as a small child, losing himself inside the worlds he created to escape the doldrums of normal life.

Now, using his formal education and extensive career experience, he excels in creating fictional worlds of depth and rich fantasy. He does this while maintaining a foundation of reality based on science and technology.

What Reviewers Said:

  • 5-Star Review: “I’ve enjoyed SF for over 50 years now. And this is some of the best. The technical details, the action, the character interplay are all wonderful. My attention was held to the point that I put in a few late nights just to get a little further along in the story.”
  • 4-Star Review: “Although the books are somewhat simple and bordering on being young adult material the mixture between science fiction and magic is making them stand out a bit from the usual crowd and I quite like this strange mix between old-fashioned magic and modern spaceships and blasters.”
  • 5-Star Review: “First off, I HATE WRITING REVIEWS, but I know Authors need them to survive and make readers aware of their work, so you can rest assured that if I have posted any kind of review you will know that you have found a pearl that will enrich your reading experience beyond measure (at least in my view).”
  • 5-Star Review: “This established the background for this magical multiverse, and it is rich. A time of renewal, rediscovery and, of course, chaos.”

Let There Be Dragons

Vincent Trigili delivers great stories of dragon lore.
Vincent Trigili’s Tales of Dragons and Magic.  I know you’ll love the Dragon Chronicles as a top pick!

Vincent Trigili certainly knows how to get to the heart of science fiction and fantasy readers.

As we leave the Universe of the Lost Tales, Vincent spirits us into the world of dragons, magic, and fantasy at a breath-taking speed.

The Silverleaf Chronicles follows the life of Silverleaf. He’s a dragon master who was born into a world without dragons and doomed to die as a madman alone in the wilderness until a young woman enters his life and a mysterious army marches across the land destroying all in its path.

The Elwyn Chronicles takes place three years before Lord Silverleaf took his famous flight against the Fifth Council’s armies, Elwyn, a young dragon master kills his first victims ripping him from his peaceful life. Now, Elwyn must overcome the madness, and lead his closest friends into battle if any of them are to have any chance to survive the coming darkness.

Wait, There’s More!

The Storymaster is a prequel novella to the Dragon Masters epic fantasy series by Vincent Trigili and originally appeared in The Dragon Chronicles, an anthology edited by Samuel Peralta.

Samuel Peralta created The Dragon Chronicles – he’s a series editor and a Best American Science Fiction & Fantasy Author. He’s a notable author in his own right – The Future Chronicles is a bestselling anthology series bringing together work from visionary new voices and the grandmasters of modern speculative fiction.

Its unique take on major science fiction and fantasy themes – A.I., time travel, dragons, robots, aliens, zombies, immortality, galactic battles, cyborgs, doomsday – has made it one of the most acclaimed anthology series of the digital era.

If you love dragons, put these books at the top of your “summer-reads list!”

Anthologies Abound

Vincent has collaborated with other authors to create five anthologies. Not only his stories, but those of the others will keep you entertained throughout the coming summer months.

So, I had one question to ask Vincent: If you could go back and give your thirteen-year-old self some advice, what would that be?

This is one of those questions that many people would answer with solid advice like “save more,” or “start your 401k sooner.” I have also seen people answer with “skip that date,” or “date more,” even.

Should I be given the opportunity to give advice to an average teenager, I would encourage them to save more. I would try to impress on them to start a 401k the very first day they can. I may even tell them to travel while they are young and free of obligations. I would tell them to live debt free, and many other good pieces of advice.

I would say all that, knowing they would not listen and would go about their lives thinking they know better than this old fuddy-duddy.

Eventually, they will grow up and be like “if I had only listened…” We all do. But, and I want to be very clear about this:

We are all wrong.
  • It is the bad choices in life that taught me how to survive.
  • It was the bad things that happened to me that taught me compassion.
  • It was the bounced paychecks that taught me what it means to be poor.
  • It was the people that abandoned me that taught me to be careful.
  • It was the people that stuck with me through thick and thin that taught me the value of loyalty and trust.
  • It was the slips of the tongue that taught me to think before I speak.
  • It was the horrible boss that taught me how to be a decent manager.
  • It was the horrible customer that taught me about how it feels to be mistreated.

And so much more.

You see, if I had the option to go back and tell myself anything, I simply would not. I am who I am because I lived through what I lived through. To change what I experienced would be to give up my very being. What could I hope to gain in exchange for that?

No. In the immortal words of Captain Kirk, “They’re the things we carry with us, the things that make us who we are. If we lose them, we lose ourselves. I don’t want my pain taken away! I need my pain!”
